ITS APT 4: CREATIVE CONVERSATIONS with Mekdela maskal
On a beautiful December Sunday afternoon before 2018 rung in, the crisp air breezed outside of our cozy, warm home. OPENING CEREMONY: WILLIAM OKPO FALL/WINTER 2014 NYFW
WILLIAM OKPO's Fall/Winter 2014 presentation was vibrant, whimsical, and strong––just like the afro beats by DJ LINDSEY that welcomed guests into the doors of 51 Astor Place. Before the presentation, I got the chance to chat with Lizzy and Darlene about the inspiration for the collection, their work with the 14+ FOUNDATION, as well as their amazing new COLLABORATION with SOLANGE and PUMA.

As I hide under a soft cotton blanket from the vicious mosquitoes that attacked me the night before, it’s my first physical reminder I made it to Jamaica. Waking up to the soft hum of the country wind, roosters crowing at the crack of dawn, and the unbelievable fresh smell in the air. It restores me with so much comfort. I have made it to Trelawny, Jamaica.
